Ironman Wisconsin – where beer flows like wine
August 29th, 2009 by Aleksandar

It’s about 2 week before the gun goes at the Ironman Wisconsin.
I feel in pretty good shape and am tomorrow doing an Olympic non draft triathlon to wring the last bit of energy out of the old body.
I look forward to coming back to the states. I always enjoy being in the US.
The race in Wisconsin looks very hard with plenty of hills.
I actually picked the race because of these hills since I am not very heavy. I expect that most of the other pros will ride much faster than me in the race but I am hoping that some of them will have spend too much energy on the hills
Game plan.
I do my training with a powertap. This is great since it takes the guessing out of the training for me. I am planning to spend the day in Wisconsin between 220-240 watts. I am only 61 kg or 134 lbs depending on where in the world you live.
This is a sold weight pr. kg ratio and despite not having the best watts/cda value then I hope that going over all the hills will be a bit easier for me. However Wisconsin looks like a race where things will be decided on the run and basically I just want to get to the run in one piece and be able to attack here instead of having to survive.
Most of all I look forward to a solid race and some good days in Madison.
After the race you can be sure to find me and my training buddy Peter Madsen at a place in Madison where beer flows like wine to have a good time despite whatever happens on race day.
