Free diving is really cool and not just because of that movie “The Big Blue”

I had a skype chat the other day. I have skype chats pretty much every day but this was actaully a really cool chat.
I chatted to a guy and we where talking (writing chatting sounds so strange, because that accociates to a really strange kind of communication – at least in my head).
Anyways, we were talking about something that I have forgotten what was but free diving came up.
We both agreed that free diving is cool. We actually tried to see how long we could hold our breath as we were sitting there by our computers in each our coner of the wold.
There is something very simple, yet very attracitive about free diving and holding your breath. I mean everyone can compete..at least they can pretend they compete because getting to the ocean or a lake can be a bit of a hassel..especially if you are chatting on your computer right before you go to bed.
But the fact that we can all do it makes it cool and also make free divers cool because how can someone be so good..these guys can hold their breath for like 8 minutes or more..pretty sick.
Another thing that seems cool with free diving is the life style. It seems free divers spend countless of hours preparing for those magic minutes. Hey that sounds familiar to me
Also there is a very good movie that is about free diving. It’s “The Big Blue” by Luc Besson with Jean Reno and Jean-Marc Barr. If you have not seen the movie I would really recomend it to you.
And while you see it you will understand why free diving is cool but don’t forget that it’s not just cool because of the movie. It’s the movie that is cool because of free diving.

The movie is cool because the director is good.
